ANCHOR Tax Relief Program

0Comments

The deadline for the ANCHOR Tax Relief Program has been extended to Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023.

In addition, eligibility has been expanded so renters who were previously ineligible due to local Payment in Lieu of Taxes, or PILOT, programs are now eligible to apply as well.

Payments are expected to be issued in late spring regardless of the applicant’s filing date. They will be issued in the form of checks or direct deposits and are not subject to federal or state income tax.

To be eligible for this year’s benefit, homeowners and renters must have occupied their primary residence on Oct. 1, 2019, and file or be exempt from New Jersey income taxes.

For more information call 888-238-1233 or visit nj.gov/treasury/taxation/anchor.

If you need assistance filling out your application, call the North Bergen Public Library at 201-869-4715 and a member of the staff will assist you.
