Everyone is Invited to the Flag Day Ceremony in Braddock Park on June 14

North Bergen recently issued the following announcement.

The North Hudson Flag Day ceremony will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in Braddock Park, in the baseball field near the James J. Braddock statue.

The ceremony will include a salute to veterans followed by the ceremonial burning of retired U.S. flags. There will be no parade.

Residents with damaged or unserviceable American flags that they would like to retire can bring them during business hours to North Bergen Town Hall at 4233 Kennedy Boulevard, the uptown library at 8411 Bergenline Avenue, or the Kennedy Branch library at 2123 Kennedy Blvd.

The Braddock Park Flag Day ceremony is sponsored jointly by the municipalities of North Bergen, Guttenberg, and West New York.
