North Bergen issued the following announcement.
North Bergen held its annual soccer championship night on Thursday, June 9, 2022 with many of the games going into overtime.
The division 1 co-ed team comprised kids ages 15, 16, and 17. Division 2 boys included participants ages 11, 12, 13, and 14 and marked the inaugural year for most of the girls on their team. Division 3 boys included participants ages 7, 8, 9, and 10, with the girls having grown to four teams. They will go up to six next year.
Among the attendees were Parks and Recreation Commissioner Hugo Cabrera and Revenue and Finance Commissioner Julio Marenco, who congratulated the participants.
The participants and parents who attended were treated to a celebratory pizza dinner.
