Santa Claus paid a visit to North Bergen on Saturday, Dec. 17, stopping by Meadowview Village to hand out Christmas gifts to the kids and pose for photos.

The occasion was an “ugly sweater party” (although many were actually pretty nifty) in the Meadowview Village community room, complete with face painting, cookies, snacks, and pizza.

Earlier this month, kids had the opportunity to write a wish-list of gifts during the Meadowview Village tree lighting ceremony and drop them in a special mailbox direct to the North Pole. Busy as he is, Santa was able to read all the letters and provide gifts to everyone who wrote.

Mayor Nicholas Sacco welcomed Santa to town for the party and ensured everyone had a terrific holiday. He was joined by Housing Authority Executive Director Gerald Sanzari and Assemblyman Pedro Mejia.

The annual event is sponsored by the mayor and township commissioners.
