3,839 residents die of unintentional injuries in New Jersey in 2016

There were 3,839 New Jersey residents who died of unintentional injuries in 2016, a 19.3 percent increase over the previous year, according to data obtained from the National Center for Health Statistics.

In 2015, 3,218 New Jersey residents died of unintentional injuries.

The National Center for Health Statistics is the nation’s primary health statistics agency. The CDC and other health-related organizations can use NCHS data for a variety of ends.
